First we must address the fact that the root of some of the violence is the general lack of opportunity in our neighborhoods. There has been a general lack of investment in our neighborhoods for more than a generation, that combined with the entrepreneurial nature of the 6th Ward has been reluctant to ask for help. However appropriate investment in our neighborhoods is not a handout, it is what we are owed as tax paying citizens.

We can look at this election as either a moment of great uncertainty or of great possibility. I see it as a moment of great possibility; to improve lives, solve problems and create a brighter future for the 6th Ward, Southside and Chicago.
